La Rocca is a newly restored, small castle that sites on a 1000 year old site of a Roman outpost,  and embodies the unique Italian balance of ancient and contemporary style. Imagine vacationing in  the remnants of a regional castle that has been recently restored sparing nothing in style, design, furnishings and respect for the past.

With its incredible breathtaking panoramic views of the Tuscan countryside, mountains, seaside, Isle of Gorgona and Gulf of Portovenere, La Rocca is located in the heart of the most creative artistic area in Italy, the Apua mountains and the marble caves of Carrara. Located in this area are the many sculpture stone studios and bronze art foundries of Pietrasanta where world-wide artists come to work.

The property is composed of two separate apartments that are separated by the garden:  The main apartment and the guest apartment  can accomodate up to 6 guests.

Accommodation Detail
Ground Floor: Large living room/dining room with sofas, fireplace and TV, stereo. Internet access. On the same floor there is fully equipped kitchen, storeroom, laundry and one half bathroom.

First Floor: From the ground floor walking up through a  spiral iron/glass staircase you reach one double bedroom with ensuite bathroom with tub and shower and dressing room.

Studio: The studio has a double bedroom, ensuite bathroom with shower, living-room/kitchen. Please note that on the living room there is a sofa bed that can sleep up to 2 additional guests.

Garden: The property is surrounded by an antique wall and olive groves. The apartments are surrounded by green gardens and five terraces  one of which is a wonderful sun deck with a mosaic. This is a wonderful spot for an al fresco dinner enjoying the panorama of Versilia. The lush gardens are full of fruit trees and flowers.  There is also a vegetable garden and a barbeque area.

Pool Area: At one side of the garden is the above ground pool. All of the terraces and gardens are fully equipped with sun deck chairs, umbrellas, tables and chairs.

Cook Service - 150 Euros per meal (groceries and beverages are an additional charge)

Please Note: La Rocca is reachable only by foot through a stone road ? about 250/300 meters from  parking on the edge of Monteggiori. Cars cannot  drive through the little streets of the village, please be aware that you will have to carry your luggage to a designated spot. Frpm this spot you will be met by the  villa manager who has a truck that she can drive to bring luggage and groceries to the villa.  Parking is  250/300 meters from the house.

Location: La Rocca is located in the hamlet of Monteggiori on the hills of Versilia and is only 25 minutes away from the coast. The villa is approximately 50 meters from a restaurant and. 2.5km down the hill is the village of Capezzano Pianore with a good selection of shops and restaurants. The nearest supermarket is in Lido di Camaiore.
