Just 10 minutes from Lucca, in the special Valley of Vorno, is a small paradise called Casale Sodini. The 7 bedroom ancient Casale,which consists of the 5 bedroom main house and a 2 bedroom coach house, was originally used partially as a mill for the family and the few inhabitants of the village and part as a farmhouse, has been beautifully and painstakingly restored. The Casale, has no architectural pretences, is simple of lines, and the materials used in construction are those of the time; stone, hand-made bricks, timber beamed ceilings, terracotta floors, etc. The only exception to tradition has been the introduction of some modern-day creature comforts such as air-conditioning and Satelite TV. 

The sprit of this villa, near a small village just outside Lucca, lies in it's absolute simplicity. Today even though the mill wheel no longer turns, the timeless ancient atmosphere and the flavors are present.

Quiet, silence and serenity are the philosophies of life that are offered here as Casale Sodini is brought back to life for your enjoyment. Here in the warm golden afternoons you can breathe these simple values of the past.

The large kitchen, the entry hall with its big window onto the garden, bringing it inside, the study and a powder room continue in the same rustic but elegant style. And how can we forget the two stone fireplaces once so indispensable, which still revive warmth and memories of family gatherings, old stories and friendly conversations!

On the upper floor of villa are five double bedrooms, each with a private bathroom. Three rooms face north with views to the hills and the valley and two look southwards over the brook and the garden. Of the five bedrooms, one is a large master suite with sitting room.

Furnishings have been carefully and patiently selected to provide the utmost in comfort and luxury, with period furniture and splendid decorative objects. Nothing has been left to chance. Bathrooms are luxurious, fitted with tubs and showers.

The spacious garden is filled with potted lemons, olive trees, pines, camellias, wisteria, roses, lavender, rosemary and fruit trees, all forming a splendid backdrop to the swimming pool. Enjoy conversations under the gazebo, relaxation by the pool or under the natural pergola of the wisteria, or dining al fresco in the place of your choice.

Main House - Ground Floor: Formal room,family dining room and TV room, office, kitchen  and laundry

First Floor:  3 double bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms ; 1 master double bedroom with ensuite bathroom  and 1 double bedroom suite with ensuite bathroom

Coach House:  The small coach house is composed of 2 bedrooms and one bathroom. One bedroom is a twin room with 2 single beds and the other bedroom is a single room. A total of 3 guests can be accommodated in the Coach House.
