Sicily

Sicily, which is the largest island in the Mediterranean Sea and the southernmost region of Italy, lies just off mainland Italy.  There are many areas within Sicily to visit and tour. Palermo reflects the diverse history of the region; it is at once modern and historic, active and laid back. Taormina has been a very popular destination with tourists since the 19th century. It has beautiful beaches and the sea is remarkably warm and has a high salt content which makes floating in the sea kind of a local pastime. The archaeological area known as the Valley of the Temples in Agrigento, Sicily, is one of the most important archaeological sites in the world and a UNESCO world heritage site since 1998.  Stay in Sicily in a vacation villa and explore the island and truly "experience" Sicily.

Note: The Italian government has implemented a Visitor's Tax of approximately 1.50 Euros per person per day and applies to all overnight stays for the first seven days in the destination. This tax is payable to the local property manager.
